The Technical & Operational Challenge

Identifying the Core Problem

Hardware sensors and industrial devices produce continuous streams of vibration, heat, and power telemetry. Traditional relational databases struggle under sustained event spikes, causing payload drops and delayed anomaly notifications.

Engineered Architecture & Solution

How OXELVO Solved It

We engineered an ingestion architecture around Apache Kafka and ClickHouse columnar storage. Lightweight FastAPI gateways publish incoming HTTP/gRPC telemetry to partitioned Kafka topics, while background workers batch-insert records into ClickHouse for sub-second analytical queries.

Delivered Capabilities

Key System Features

  • Lightweight asynchronous ingestion gateway with token-bucket rate limiting
  • Partitioned Kafka message broker preventing payload loss during traffic surges
  • Columnar ClickHouse database delivering high data compression and fast aggregation
  • Real-time telemetry dashboards and automated alert webhooks to operational teams
  • Automated data retention policies archiving aged records to cold storage
